WSU is currently in first place on two national collegiate bowling polls. What makes this announcement so unique is that in both the men's and women's categories, WSU is in first place, sweeping both national polls.

Coach Gordon Vadakin was in awe over the announcement.

"This is extraordinary, totally amazing," Vadakin said.

The National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association and the Bowling Writers Association of America released their second poll of the season on Feb. 18. The BWAA poll has the men leading Saginaw Valley State, while the women placed over Pikeville College.

In addition to the national polls, week 19 of CollegeBowling.com's Power Rankings show the WSU women in first place, ahead of Pikeville College. The men are in second position, behind Vincennes University.

The Wichita State University bowling program has achieved a combined 12 national championships.
