Team Pegine Impacts Bottom Line Through Focus on Productive Work Environment

Florida based Team Pegine will publish paper on workplace survey, offering suggestions for leaders, managers and employers who want to increase employee engagement and productivity.

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (PRWEB) February 29, 2004 --- A soon to be released white paper by Team Pegine offers suggestions for leaders, managers and employers who want to increase employee engagement and productivity. Florida based Team Pegine, a consulting and training company, surveyed over 200 employees, from the Jacksonville, Florida area on how managers and leaders can create a more effective work environment. Respondents were from five different industries, who described their workplace as pleasant places to work and whose employers rated them as highly productive. The industries surveyed were hospitality, education, human resources, finances and technology.

The suggestions for managers and leaders were:

1.   Treat everyone equally.
2.   Be fair.
3.   Incorporate teambuilding activities in the workplace.
4.   Get to know each of your employees.
5.   Ask for input from all levels.
6.   Be consistent.

Research in employee engagement has proved that productivity increases when employees are engaged. Employee engagement is the degree of employees' emotional and intellectual involvement in their employer. It is more than satisfaction or commitment, but how much the employee wants to and actually does contribute to corporate results. Several research studies, both qualitative and quantitative, found that employees who are engaged in creating business results speak positively about their employer to co-workers, potential employees and customers, have a real desire to be part of the organization and go "above and beyond" in their efforts to accomplish tasks that will contribute to business success.

Pegine Echevarria, founder of Team Pegine, shares, Employees want to be connected with all levels of the company. They want management to incorporate team building activities in their work week so that everyone can have a chance to communicate and interact in a more humane way. Connecting with each other, other divisions and with management was highly sought and was a prominent factor in increasing their productivity. Once they were connected they were able to align with the vision and direction of the company, increasing their engagement."

A recognized expert and author on success, leadership and teambuilding, Pegine Echevarria has been recognized by Hispanic Business Magazine and MarketData as the top female speaker in the country. Hispanic Business Magazine also named her one of the top two motivational business speakers in the United States.
