NovoSci Introduces the Ready System® 200 as an Alternative to the Traditional Heart Lung Machine and Conventional Cardiopulmonary Bypass

No longer will clinicians have to compromise safety, flexibility, and convenience to reap the benefits of mini-system technology for cardiopulmonary bypass. Ready System® 200 offers clinicians a platform to drastically lower blood product usage, reduce air/blood interface, and remove silicone from the bypass circuit. The low priming volume of the Ready System allows the clinical team to employ fluid management strategies which have been shown in recent studies to decrease patient morbidity and mortality. Safety, flexibility and convenience are key benefits to the NovoSci Ready System®

The Woodlands, TX (PRWEB) February 29, 2004 --- Continuing its commitment to develop new and innovative medical devices, NovoSci is pleased to announce the FDA clearance of the Ready System® 200, the next generation minimized bypass system.

No longer will surgeons and perfusionists have to compromise safety, flexibility, and convenience to reap the benefits of mini-system technology.

The Ready System has been designed to accommodate the changing clinical scenarios of cardiac surgery and cardiopulmonary bypass by providing the clinician with a safe and flexible cardiopulmonary bypass platform.

Approximately 400,000 procedures utilizing cardiopulmonary bypass are performed in the United States each year. The NovoSci Ready System® can accommodate the clinical scenarios in all of these procedures because it places a unique closed reservoir in the venous line. The patented combination of a closed loop bypass circuit combined with vacuum assisted venous return eliminates concern about venous air handling in a minimized bypass system.

We are very pleased to be able to offer this new innovation in cardiopulmonary bypass to the cardiac surgery market", said Michael Sorna, president and CEO. NovoSci is committed to listening to clinicians needs, looking at existing and proven technologies, and responding with innovative products."

The Ready System® is a complete pre-mounted, pre-configured system allowing for a reduction of set-up time and an increase in standardization of the cardiopulmonary bypass circuit in both routine and emergent procedures. The Ready System® has a priming volume of 650 milliliters this is at least one-half that of a traditional heart lung machine circuit. Ready System 200 meets clinicians needs to minimize perfusion circuitry and improve the level of safety and adaptability in minimized cardiopulmonary bypass circuits.
