Hollywood Fashion Designer Diane Medak Presents Summer 2004

The L.A.-based fashion designers sexy, stretchy, colorful separates are worn by Britney Spears, Penelope Cruz, Paris Hilton, Hillary Duff and Liz Phair.

Fusing her music industry experience with her creative design talent, Diane debuted her first collection in Fall 1999, which immediately sold out of Malibus celebrity-frequented Planet Blue. Her subsequent collections have been quietly filling the racks of retailers including Henry Bendel, Scoop and Big Drop in New York, and Fred Segal, Planet Blue and HORN in L.A. Mixing and matching colors and dyes is Dianes passion, and she finds inspiration in everything from exotic flowers in her backyard to brightly colored candy. Each piece in each collection is available in every color shes showing for that season. The palette for summer 2004 includes luscious, ripe colors such as flamingo, tangerine, seafoam, mint, chile, punch, ginger, fern, topaz, black and white. Special trims and colorful silk floral embellishments add fun and uniqueness to for summer.

Diane is introducing three warm weather collections for spring/summer 2004: the basic group, the silk group and the contrast group. The basic group features her much-loved, double-lined camis (great bra support!), tees, tanks, runched v-neck tops, halter tops, drawstring pants, miniskirts, drawstring skirts, halter dresses and tube dresses. The silk group adds strips of colorful, floral silk fabric as an accent down the front of runched tanks, halter tops, halter dresses and skirts. The contrast group mixes funky combinations of fern/mint, ginger/chile, seafoam/sky and punch/opal in a collection of tank tops, miniskirts and tube tops.

Fit is key, with necklines, gathers and runching creating perfect silhouettes on many body types. I want my clothes to be flattering to a variety of body types," Diane explains. Im 511 and slim and my assistant is 52 and curvy, so we both try on every sample to make it fits both of us well." Her pieces are also great for pregnancy, as the rayon/lycra knit fabric has lots of stretch.
