Introducing Couture SF Couture Wedding Gowns

San Francisco-based designer Christina Hurvis creates her couture wedding gowns for the worlds savviest brides

(PRWEB) February 29, 2004 --The most stylish brides dont find their perfect wedding gowns in department or specialty stores...they have their one-of-a-kind gowns designed and custom created by Christina Hurvis of Couture SF, where their dream comes to life right before their eyes.

Christina studied fashion at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in Paris, and worked with celebrated fashion houses Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier and Pierre Balmain, as well as with celebrities including Madonna, Shalom Harlow and Elle McPherson, before launching her own couture collection in the late 1990s. Each gown in her collection of couture bridal and evening gowns undergoes a unique and detail-oriented design process involving several client consultations, sketching, fabric selection, drapings and a series of fittings. Couture gown creation averages four to six months, with approximately six fittings scheduled, and gowns begin at $2500.

The 4,000-sq. ft. Couture SF studio is located in downtown San Francisco, and offers a luxurious, private setting for brides and their friends and family to collaborate on the perfect dress. Champagne and fine catering is available.

Champs-Elysees, Rivoli and Montaigne are some of the names given to the gowns of Christinas Fall 2004 Bridal Collection. Timeless gowns are draped from luxurious silks, always with special couture details -- a wide silk grosgrain ribbon adorning the waist,
fine topstitched seaming, silk ribbons accenting just the right curves. I love the sleek elegance of a perfectly fitted silhouette, without too many bells and whistles, just the right accents," says Christina. The collection premieres in early 2004.

A recent wedding trend has brides and grooms hosting their ceremonies in exotic, far off locales, and Christina can create a dress to blend into the lush, tropical backdrop of Bali, the romantic architecture of Florence and the sultry nights of the French Riviera. Christina will help the bride complete her look with styling suggestions, and will even create custom couture for a bridal trousseau. Adding splashes of color to a gown is another top trend that Christina loves, particularly for fashion-forward and second-time brides.

The Couture SF studio is located at 185 Clara Street in San Francisco, 415-896-0116. Christina is available for personal interviews and consultations by appointment.
