(PRWEB) March 29, 2004 -- Amelia Davis new book My Story: A Photographic Essay on Life With Multiple Sclerosis hits bookstores in April. My Story contains the first new photographs of Richard Pryor to be published in years. Although Mr. Pryor has shied away from the media spotlight in recent years, he agreed to be photographed for Ms. Davis book simply because he believed in the message behind it -- there is life after a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.
People often think that a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis is the end of their ability to live a normal life." Said his wife Jennifer Lee Pryor. By watching my husband Richard, I know this isn't true. MS is simply the next chapter."
Amelia herself was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998, just two months before her thirtieth birthday. The essays and compelling photographs in this highly engaging, beautifully illustrated book poignantly portray the lives of thirty-two men and women from the ages of seventeen to seventy who share the challenge of living with MS. Amelia hopes to not only show the world what living with this disease looks like, but to communicate the important role that family, friends and caregivers play in the life of a person living with multiple sclerosis. Amelias work deals with confronting lifes realities head on, and with this book she challenges the viewer to confront her disease with her.
Amelias book is available from Demos Medical Publishing: www.demosmedpub.com.
