Back to the future for Electromechanical Vendors
Vending Management Services Limited (VMSL), have announced the deployment of EMU, a revolutionary new product designed and developed by VMSL for upgrading electro-mechanical vending machines.
Wellington, New Zealand (PRWEB) March 2, 2004 --The EMU, or Electro-Mechanical Upgrade unit, transforms an old computer less vending machine into a state of the art electronic machine with the simple addition of a computerized 'black box. EMU simply plugs into the existing machine and the computer takes control of existing switches, sensors and motors without having to add any additional components," said VMSLs Hardware Solutions Architect, Greg Bauer. The device enables the vending machine to be reprogrammed without needing to be rewired, improves stock management and control, and allows different columns to have different pricing. The EMU also provides a platform for remote monitoring, electronic lock and cashless payment".
Previously, to provide this level of functionality an entire new vending machine would have to be purchased.
Electro-mechanical machines no longer support the widening range of products that vending operations are looking to market," said VMSLs Business Development Manager, Toby Mills. EMU allows these operations to continue using their existing fleet of machines for many more years and to benefit from improved inventory and fault management as a result of online telemetry".
EMU units are fully compatible with VMSLs Vendware and VSeTool® fulfillment management solutions. This means the cellular connection can be used to remotely monitor stock levels and accurately predict when each machine will next need filling. Coca-Cola Amatil has already begun to deploy EMUs to Electro-mechanical vending machines across Australia.
During the last decade, VMSL has implemented Vendware solutions for large customers around the world. VMSL now has large deployments in every corner of the globe and has achieved de facto standard status in the massive global vending market.
The company has representatives in the US and UK, and research, development and manufacturing facilities in New Zealand that produce a range of leading edge vending technologies.
