Volunteering Began At Eight For New 411-Kids Director
411 Kids is a volunteer organization passionately committed to helping homeless and at-risk kids in Broward county, Florida.
(PRWEB) March 3, 2004 -- Suzanne Hazelroth, general manager of Sullivan & Associates, has been appointed assistant executive director of 411-KIDS, a non-profit volunteer organization that serves homeless and at-risk youth.
Hazelroth is a University of Florida business and economics graduate who began volunteering at the age of eight.
At holiday times, mom prepared big baskets of home cooked food for less fortunate families in the neighborhood. She would do all the work and then send me and my brother to deliver the food," Hazelroth said. Vivid memories of the happy faces she saw in her rural Virginia community when she distributed the gifts have stayed with her. When you can bring a happy moment or a good day to someone and then see it in their face,
youre hooked. Inevitably you want that feeling all the time. I owe a debt of gratitude to Mom for introducing me to volunteering," she said.
411-KIDS volunteers work on the streets with homeless and at-risk youth.
The groups outreach counselors help youngsters reconnect with family, find shelter, and obtain food and services that can save their lives.
