New York, NY (PRWEB) March 3, 2004 -- Drury Design Dynamics just completed a comprehensive training program for the launch of Janssen Pharmaceuticas latest product, Risperdal Consta, the first and only long-acting atypical antipsychotic approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of schizophrenia. Training for this launch was no small feat.
Because Janssen and patients needed to have Risperdal Consta immediately in the market after approval [in December], we had two regional meetings with a major training emphasis," said Carl Hyman, Director of Education & Training at Drury.
In the two and a half days, reps were engaged in a series of workshops that covered such topics as the new delivery system by injection and overcoming physician objections. A culminating activity involved practicing how to sell to real physicians who attended the meeting.
By the end of the meeting, Janssen reps became thorough experts on the drug, knowledgeable in selling against the competition and learned how to implement in-service training. They learned how to make giving the injection look smooth and effortless," said Hyman, thereby demonstrating to physicians and nurses how to properly administer the injection.
The successful results of Drurys training program are expected to be shown later this year through better than forecasted sales figures for Risperdal Consta.
