Coverage of the Sixth Annual Independent Games Festival (IGF) has begun on Game Tunnel
Game Tunnel has begun their coverage of the sixth annual Independent Games Festival (IGF). As a part of the Game Developers Conference (GDC), the goal of the IGF is to reward the "Innovation in Independent Games."
(PRWEB) March 3, 2004 -- Between March 24 and March 26, thousands upon thousands of game developers will descend upon San Jose to take part in the Game Developers Conference. As a part of the conference the Independent Games Festival (IGF) is focused on innovation in gaming. The IGF is in many ways similar to the Sundance Film Festival that is held in Sundance every year. However, instead of focusing on independent film efforts, the IGF focuses on games created by independent developers.
As the gaming industry has grown in size, the IGF has become a focal point of innovation that many feel has been lost over time in mainstream gaming. The games that are shown at the IGF hail back to the early days of game developers, with most of them working on shoestring budgets, working full-time jobs, and taking financial shortcuts wherever possible in order to complete their games.
This year, Game Tunnel is focused on providing perhaps the most comprehensive coverage of the IGF. Beginning March 1st, Game Tunnel is launching features that will not only spotlight the different games, but also the people behind the games. Interviews, previews, reviews, and opinion pieces are a little of what will be available through the Game Tunnel website throughout all of March. New features will be added nearly daily.
