The Financial Planning Challenges Confronting Special Needs Families to be Addressed by Seminar at The American College

Some of the nations foremost experts in the financial, developmental and emotional challenges confronting special needs individuals and their families will be participating in Special Needs Families: Planning for a Stable Financial and Medical Future, a ground-breaking one-day seminar at The American College in Bryn Mawr on March 15th. This unique educational event for financial service professionals and their clients will examine the vitally important financial and medical care issues families must address when providing for a dependent loved one with special needs.

BRYN MAWR, PA (PRWEB) March 4, 2004 --- Nationally renowned financial and psychological experts to discuss issues and concerns vital to the health and welfare of special needs individuals. Some of the nations foremost experts in the financial, developmental and emotional challenges confronting special needs individuals and their families will be participating in Special Needs Families: Planning for a Stable Financial and Medical Future, a ground-breaking one-day seminar at The American College in Bryn Mawr on March 15th. This unique educational event for financial service professionals and their clients will examine the vitally important financial and medical care issues families must address when providing for a dependent loved one with special needs.

Topics and presenters at the event include:

·Estate Planning for the Special Needs Individual. Presenter: Professor Theodore T. Kurlowicz, JD, LLM, CLU, AEP, Charles E. Drimal Professor of Estate Planning, The American College.

·Medical Expenses and Other Itemized Deductions. Presenter: Adjunct Professor of Taxation, Thomas M. Brinker, Jr., CPA/PFS, ChFC, CFE, AEP, The American College.

·The Emotional and Family Dynamics of Special Needs Families. Presenter: Alan F. Friedman, PhD, Associate Professor, Northwestern University.

The event is part of the Special Market Series. This series of monthly financial education events focuses on meeting the financial needs of Americas growing niche markets. Upcoming Special Market Series events will focus on succession planning for family business clients, the financial needs of same sex couples and providing financial advice to the increasingly affluent and growing Asian-American marketplace.

This one-day seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. The $225 fee for the seminar includes program materials, lunch and breaks. The Colleges recently redecorated residency wing at the Gregg Conference Center is available for those who require overnight accommodations at an additional cost. Attendees requiring overnight accommodations are encouraged to register early, as the number of rooms is limited.
