Cordova, TN (PRWEB) March 4, 2004 -- Speaker, author, and entrepreneur, Harriet Turk will provide the opening keynote address for the Alabama DECA Leadership Conference at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, AL, Friday March 5, 2004 at 8:00 PM.
Since 1988, Mrs. Turk has worked with youth and adults from all 50 States and Canada, helping them realize their leadership potential, develop team building skills and encouraging them to live healthy life styles. Mrs. Turk earned her Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama in 1993.
DECA, a national association for students and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurship, consists of 170,000 marketing students, 4,500 marketing teachers, and 14,000 postsecondary Delta Epsilon Chi. For the Alabama DECA conference there will be an estimated 1000 students, teachers and advisers attending.
Using her knowledge and experience as a former youth programs coordinator and probation officer, Mrs. Turk addresses the problems and choices teens face today. Her programs cover the issues of self-esteem, personal power, eating disorders, conflict and violence resolution, underage drinking, drug use and leadership development.
