70's and 80's collide with 21st century on Past Becomes Future CD

Progressive Vancouver indie record label, Pro Soul, ushers in a new era of dance music. Their first major release, 'Past Becomes Future features modern versions of classic pop songs.

(PRWEB) March 6, 2004 --Pro Soul releases 'Past Becomes Future,' a new dance compilation that merges 70's and 80's classics with 21st Century music.

In this age of mega-corporate hit compilations, Past Becomes Future is truly vital and refreshing. It takes enduring, well-written songs of the 70s and 80s and preserves their essence while infusing them with inspired vibrant grooves that sound 21st Century.

Past Becomes Future doesnt simply recreate timeless hits, so indelibly etched, on our radio-saturated brains, it updates them! Its an eclectic fusion of urban and electronic sounds and styles with house, techno, trance, drum & bass, and even hip hop, essentially redefining the very concept of the cover song.

Featuring songs by Corey Hart, Prince, Bryan Ferry, Al Green, ABBA, David Bowie, Pet Shop Boys, Kajagoogoo, and The Police, undoubtedly, there is something for all types of progressive pop music lovers here.

Pro Soul painstakingly chose songs that were well suited to these styles of music, and hadn't already been remixed to death. The goal was to retain the original feel and appeal of these classics, yet totally reworking them in a new way with fresh, talented Canadian Pro Soul artists. The result is an exciting, one of a kind collection of great modern music.

Already receiving acclaim in the industry, talented up and coming Pro Soul artists, and producer Jarome effectively bring together the best of past and present. Every track is a potential single for both radio and club on this compilation of no filler 'chart dance music that will still gain respect amongst enthusiasts of electronica, pop and R&B.

The release features Darryl Kromm on the tracks 'Slave To Love, and 'Fame in his first major release since hit 80's pop band Strange Advance.

Loaded with enhanced multimedia, and computer extras, the CD includes Instrumental MP3 remixes, behind the scenes videos, artist profiles, production details and more.
