Dixie-Net Chooses Roaring Penguin Software's CanIt-PRO for Per-User Anti-Spam Filtering

Internet Service Provider offers new service packages based on CanIt-PRO's flexible anti-spam and anti-virus filtering.

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) March 9, 2004 ---Dixie-Net, a Mississippi-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) and competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC), has chosen Roaring Penguin Software's flexible CanIt-PRO anti-spam solution to provide its end users with new, custom e-mail filtering options. Dixie-Net's 10,000 Internet users, as well as its domain managers, can now benefit from basic or advanced spam and virus filtering.

Dixie-Net's Internet subscribers will now all benefit from some spam filtering by default and will have the option to opt-out of mail filtering. Users can also upgrade to a premium filtering package, enabling them to set their own filtering levels, access their Spam Traps to review trapped mail, and use CanIt-PRO's easy-to-use interface to build their own whitelists and blacklists. In addition, Dixie-Net will offer per-domain filtering for its corporate hosting customers.

Dixie-Net purchased CanIt-PRO version 2.0, which includes per-user Bayesian filtering. This enables the system to learn each user's mail preferences over time, constantly improving filtering results and staying on top of spammer's new tactics.

Based on the acclaimed MIMEDefang e-mail inspection and manipulation software, also developed and maintained by Roaring Penguin, CanIt offers the industry's most complete and flexible anti-spam and anti-virus solution. It can be deployed in any enterprise e-mail environment, including on all Linux and UNIX servers.
