OGM Introduces Low Power LED Anchor Light

New LED Anchor Light from Orca Green Marine Technology Reduces Power Drain for Boats at Anchor

AUSTIN, TX (PRWEB) March 8, 2004 --Orca Green Marine Technology Corporation (OGM) today announced it has begun shipping its LX Series LED Anchor Light, the latest product in their expanding Argo Navis(TM) Series of LED Navigation Lights. Based on the latest in LED technology, the LX Series uses 2 Luxeon(TM) LEDs from Lumileds(TM) for 2 mile visibility and uses patent-pending regulation circuitry to allow the light to maintain constant full brightness from 8VDC up to 36VDC. Anchor lights have long been seen as necessary power drains, as they use up to 25W of battery power during a time when the engine is not running to replenish battery banks. With the OGM Anchors power consumption at only 3W (0.3 amps), boats at anchor can ensure anchoring safety all night while limiting power drainage. The LX Anchor light also features a photocell option, which allows for automatic turn on at dusk, off at dawn. This ends the worry of leaving the Anchor light on all day. For those who prefer a hanging Anchor closer to the deck, OGM offers a version fitted with 15 ft. of marine grade wire and a cigarette plug for quick and easy installation.

The LX Series Anchor light continues OGMs commitment to our customers by offering several options that match their specific needs", said OGM CEO, Hobie Caldwell. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance a boaters experience and rely heavily on our customers feedback for new products."

With a low profile of 2.5 inches in height and a rugged housing using o-rings for complete waterproof protection, these lights will outlast any traditional anchor light several times over. OGMs LX Series Anchor light sells for $99USD. For the photocell option or cigarette plug option, add an additional $20 each. They can be ordered directly from the OGM website (www.orcagreen.com) or call (512) 858-7040 or look for OGMs lights from a growing list of resellers nationwide.
