Bush administration requested to issue warrant for the arrest of Mubarak during his upcoming state visit to the US.
The Bush administration has been requested by the Free Egyptians, an underground Middle-East freedom-fighting group, to issue a warrant for the arrest of Husni Mubarak during his upcoming state visit to the US in the beginning of April for aiding and abetting terrorists, committing crimes against humanity, plundering Egyptian Treasury money and for misappropriating USAID funds.
(PRWEB) March 8, 2004 -- The Free Egyptians, an underground Middle-East freedom-fighting group, has requested that the US government issue a warrant for the arrest of the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak during his upcoming state visit to the US in the beginning of April for aiding and abetting terrorists, committing crimes against humanity, plundering Egyptian Treasury money and for misappropriating USAID funds.
Mubarak's human rights record has been one of the worst over the past two decades according to annual reports by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights, OMCT, IRCT, FIDH, HRCAP and others. According to Colonel Mohamed El-Ghannam, an Egyptian police officer who has defected to Switzerland, Mubarak personally orders the police to take female relatives of wanted men hostage and torture and sexually abuse them to break the spirit of dissent.
The Free Egyptians has requested that the US government otherwise pressure Mubarak into stepping aside and appointing a broad-base, secularly representative interim governing council that should:
1. Change the constitution to the effect of separating the mosque from the state and promoting secularity, civil society and tolerance.
2. Ban and pass bills banning from public life and freezing and confiscating assets of all fanatic Islamic individuals, organizations, parties and groups.
3. Ban and pass bills banning from public life and freezing and confiscating assets of political parties and groups that are religious in nature.
4. Ban and pass bills banning from public life and freezing and confiscating assets of political parties and groups that promote conflict and oppose peace in the region.
5. Ban and and pass bills banning from public life and freezing and confiscating assets of NDP members, past and present.
6. Ban and pass bills banning from public life and freezing and confiscating assets of journalists and members of the press and other mass media that promote anti-peace, sectarian hate or fanatic creed.
7. Regulate and pass bills regulating the building of new Mosques, Churches and Synagogues.
8. Abolish and pass bills abolishing such posts as Muffti, Imam and Islamic Activists (Preachers).
9. Ban and pass bills banning and freezing and confiscating assets of Islamic magazines, newspapers and other publications.
10. Ban and pass bills banning from teaching school teachers who indoctrinate Islamic fanaticism to school children.
11. Ban and pass bills banning the teaching of Religion at schools.
12. Ban and pass bills banning the inclusion of religious material and indoctrination in school Arabic textbooks.
13. Make and pass bills making sectarian violence a felony.
14. Arrange and pass bills arranging for general elections to choose a President and Vice President from candidates of two political parties which conform to the principles of a new constitution with respect to peace, democracy and secularity.
