The Nashville Screenwriters Conference Announes Dates for Its 6th Annual Conference June 4th-6th, 2004

In one artistic, collaborative weekend, the distance between Nashville and Hollywood disappears. This happens once a year during the Nashville Screenwriters Conference when writers, agents, managers, talent agents, producers and studio execs give advice to both professional and hopeful writers. They will talk about opening doors in Hollywood, getting scripts into the hands of the right people and more importantly, getting your scripts read! Professionals from all aspects of the entertainment business join forces to provide insight on making ideas into reality. This years conference is scheduled for June 4-6 at the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University

In one artistic, collaborative weekend, the distance between Nashville and Hollywood disappears. This happens once a year during the Nashville Screenwriters Conference when writers, agents, managers, talent agents, producers and studio execs give advice to both professional and hopeful writers. They will talk about opening doors in Hollywood, getting scripts into the hands of the right people and more importantly, getting your scripts read! Professionals from all aspects of the entertainment business join forces to provide insight on making ideas into reality. This years conference is scheduled for June 4-6 at the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University.

The Nashville Screenwriters Conference was inspired and created by Karen Murphy: producer of Spinal Tap", A Mighty Wind" and Best in Show"; Les Bohem: writer of Steven Spielbergs hit sci-fi television series Taken, " Dantes Peak" and Twenty Bucks"; as well as business manager and Nashville businessman Gary Haber. The conference is also proud to announce the return of music industry professional Anastasia Brown, host of the highly acclaimed NSC Music and Movies" luncheon. The mission of the Nashville Screenwriters Conference is to bring Hollywoods top players together with the famed creative community of Nashville.

Attendees will enjoy a weekend of amazing panels. Theres The Big Break" -- ideas for opening doors to get your scripts read, Lets Get Specific" --important details about getting started and structuring the story and screenplay, Writing for a hit TV Show -- Law & Order" -- features a team of writers from Law & Order",
The Microwave Pitch" - executives, agents and writers collaborate on what could be a 3-month process and condense it to an hour, right before your eyes, Have a Finished Script?" -- Each attendee will leave with a packet of essential information to help with those next steps. There will also be a new panel on Animation" and You Pick the Topic" where attendees can email questions in advance a panel will answer the questions most helpful to a general audience.

NSCs guests include industry leaders from a variety of genres including John August (Writer- Big Fish," Charlies Angels" and Go"), John Lee Hancock (Director -- The Alamo" and The Rookie," Writer -- King Arthur" and A Perfect World"), Brian Helgeland (Writer -- Mystic River," and LA Confidential" Writer and Director -- A Knights Tale"), Anne Rapp (Writer- Dr. T & The Woman" and Cookies Fortune"), David Self (Writer- Road To Perdition" and Thirteen Days"), and Larry Wilson (Writer- The Little Vampire," Beetlejuice" and The Addams Family"). There will also be agents from United Talent Agency, Creative Artists Agency, William Morris Agency, executives from DreamWorks, animation companies and several other production companies. Each guest comes to Nashville with the goal of helping aspiring writers become colleagues.

Therell be no lack of mingling opportunities during the conference. There are several added special offerings in addition to the conference itself. For attendees who sign up in advance, youll be given an opportunity to have a twenty-minute development meeting with a writer or development executive. We will once again be offering a Music in Film & TV Luncheon," a successful event that caters to songwriters, composers and artists interested in learning how to place their music in films and TV shows. On Sunday there will be a Wrap Party, which will give panelists and attendees the opportunity to meet, mingle and discuss ideas over brunch. It serves as one last chance to network with panelists and sponsors. Among the extra opportunities, guests may buy tickets to attend the Silver Screen Party, where they can enjoy a Saturday night party with panelists and sponsors featuring world-class songwriters in the round, libations, dinner and a silent auction and the opportunity to lunch and network with the panelists and sponsors in an informal luncheon setting.
