Presidential Straw Poll to be Centerpiece of Libertarian Convention's Final Day
Libertarian candidates for President will top off a weekend of fun and freedom as delegates pick their favorites and look ahead to the national campaign.
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) March 13, 2004 --The 2004 State Convention of the Libertarian Party of California (LPC) will close on March 14 Sunday evening after another day filled with business and pleasure.
For breakfast: Dean Cameron, an actor with a rare quality. He is a libertarian.
For Sunday brunch: Richard Rider, Tax Fighter extraordinaire and someone who could teach Arnold Schwarzenegger a thing or two about being a Friend of the Taxpayer. He has saved them billions, had fun doing it, and always has fun talking about it.
For dinner: Entrepeneur, Peter Thiel. He created a new company and may have helped create a new American expression: "Give me your email; I'll PayPal you."
But perhaps the highlight of the day wil come at 2:35 when Presidential candidates Gary Nolan, Aaron Russo, and Michael Badnarik speak once again before the assembled delegates and convention goers. Those who arrived at the convention on Friday will have seen the candidates in action in the format of a debate. These encores will be one last chance to change someone's mind. Immediately following the speeches, attendees will cast their votes in a Presidential "Straw Poll" and the candidates will find out how they fared.
Also of importance to the candidates and to the delegates gathered will be the Libertarian Party business to be conducted on Sunday morning. Members will select their representatives to the party's National Committees and will elect delegates to the Libertarian Party National Convention to be held May 27-31 in Atlanta. Those Californian Libertarians, along with Libertarians from across the country will choose who is to be the 2004 Libertarian presidential nominee.
