Crufts Winner Can't Compete With UK's Coolest Canine

She may have her own 'celebrity agent and is also reported to be demanding over 1,000 for an interview but this years Crufts winner, Deedee the Whippet still cant lay claim to the title of being the Coolest Canine in the UK.

(PRWEB) March 14, 2004 --Described as the ordinary-dog-owners alternative to Crufts, The UKs Coolest Canine competition sets out to recognise the talents and special relationships between some of the 8 million family dogs and their owners throughout the United Kingdom.

This year Sasha, a 2 ½ year old German Shepherd Dog owned by Karrie Dellar from Berkshire, beat off competition from hundreds of hopeful hounds to be officially crowned as the UKs Coolest Canine.

Sasha was nominated for the award by a judging panel including former Blue Peter presenter John Noakes and a collection of animal experts, after she used all of her canine intuition and coolness under pressure to alert her owner to a house fire which could have had devastating consequences.

The proud pooch was presented with her award by previous Coolest Canine winner Endal, a dog who has also been awarded a Dicken Medal for Bravery and lists the ability to operate a cash machine and saving his disabled-owners life by placing him in the recovery position whilst retrieving his mobile phone following a traffic accident as just a couple of his extraordinary achievements.

While she may have caught the eye of the Crufts judges, little Deedee has some way to go before she can declare herself the Coolest Canine in Britain.
