Sam Adams, Nick Fish to debate before City Club of Portland

At its weekly Friday Forum on March 26, City Club of Portland will hold a debate between Sam Adams and Nick Fish, both candidates in the 2004 nonpartisan race for Portland City Council Position No. 1. Political scientist and Reed College professor Dr. Peter Steinberger will serve as moderator.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) March 14, 2004 --At its weekly Friday Forum on March 26, City Club of Portland will hold a debate between Sam Adams and Nick Fish, both candidates in the 2004 nonpartisan race for Portland City Council Position No. 1. Political scientist and Reed College professor Dr. Peter Steinberger will serve as moderator.

Pundits have bemoaned how the two leading contenders for City Council seem to wear the same pair of rose-colored glasses when looking at Portlands future. From concern for business, the economy and jobs to education and child care; from affordable housing and safer communities to more effective government-Fish and Adams often take similar positions. What sets these two apart? What are their differences and how will they distinguish themselves for voters?

This program, which is open to the public, will be held at Multnomah Athletic Club (1849 S.W. Salmon St.). Doors open at 11:30 AM. The program runs from 12:15 to 1:15 PM. Luncheon reservations and cancellations are available online at www.pdxcityclub.org or from (503) 228-7231 (members only call 503-241-9242) by 2 PM Wednesday, March 24.
