Weekend Conference for Black Christian Journalists
Nationally known black reporters Hamil Harris of the Washington Post and James Patterson of the Indianapolis Star will headline a weekend conference for aspiring black Christian journalists at Morehouse College in Atlanta on April 23-24, 2004.
(PRWEB) March 15, 2004 --Adrienne Gaines, news editor of Charisma magazine, will also be teaching at the conference. Anthony Bradley of the Acton Institute will begin the conference Friday evening as he leads a discussion on Christian worldview, and Star Parker of the Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education will speak at the closing banquet Saturday evening.
Students will have the unique opportunity to learn from and network with these experienced, award-winning journalists, as well as other journalism students.
Books by William Raspberry, Stanley Crouch, Thomas Sowell, and Star Parker will also be distributed during the weekend.

The conference is co-sponsored by Campus Outreach and World Journalism Institute and may lead to interested students attending one of World Journalism Institutes college-level journalism courses held during the summer months in Washington, D.C., New York City, and Los Angeles.
Students at these summer courses have the opportunity to study for three weeks with top-notch Christian journalists. The most promising students are awarded paid internships with newspapers across the country.
