Library Journal Names Top Mysteries Of The Year
The Library Journal, a national publication, has named the top five mystery books of 2003. Topping the list was 'The Hummingbird Wizard' writen by Meredith Blevins, www.meredithblevins.com.
(PRWEB) March 15, 2004 --Library Journal reviewer, Rex Klett writes, "In this engaging and unusual first novel, Blevins flavors her lively prose with frequent humor and unexpected twists; readers will also be drawn in by the riveting characters, great plot, and insights into the Gypsy culture. A great choice for most mystery collections."
'The Hummingbird Wizard' received raves from the masters: Tony Hillerman, Jonathan Kellerman, and Clive Cussler. This mystery is the first in a series published by TOR/Forge. Second in the series, 'The Vanished Priestess', will be released fall of 2004.
When creating the characters and their world Blevins says, "I wanted a world where the extraordinary seemed common. A world where strong women characters, Annie and Madame Mina, were old enough to have earned the right to say and do whatever they please. And they do. With passion!"
Tony Hillerman says of the book, "Meredith Blevins has written a thoroughly original first mystery, very funny, with characters you'll never forget."
'The Hummingbird Wizard' is available through most local libraries, independent bookstores, and chains. And, a big bonus for mystery lovers and those who are looking for a good gift, for a short time 'The Hummingbird Wizard' is available at Amazon.com at a very attractive price.
"Mysteries aren't what they used to be," states radio host and book review columnist Rick Kleffel. "That's long past and elegantly buried in Meredith Blevins' 'The Hummingbird Wizard'."
