Premier Assistive Technology announces its next generation Ultimate Talking Dictionary with its new INTERLINK technology.

Premier Assistive Technology, a world leader in assistive software for reading and writing, announces the release of its next generation Ultimate Talking Dictionary with its new INTERLINK technology to allow cross-relational, "fuzzy logic" searching based on word meaning.

(PRWEB) March 16, 2004 --Ken Grisham, President / CEO explains Our Ultimate Talking Dictionary was already the most comprehensive PC-based dictionary on the market with its advanced features such as a fully integrated thesaurus, power search" for partial word lookup and, of course, its reading capabilities. However, we knew we could make it even better by examine how people actually use traditional dictionaries, thesauruses and other related reference materials. We already had many of those features in UTD. In our ongoing research, we discovered that not only do persons often not know how to spell a word, but many times, may only have a concept or idea of a word they are looking for without actually knowing the exact word at all. Thats where our new INTERLINK technology comes into play".

Steve Timmer, Chairman and Chief Technology Officer, explains that With our new INTERLINK technology, we have devised a methodology that allows a person to actually find a word when they dont know how to spell the word or even know exactly what the word is."

To enable us to achieve these powerful search algorithms, all of the words in the UTD are now interlinked" in a myriad of ways to allow cross-referencing on a variety of relational levels, so that it is easy to find a word just by knowing a concept or related idea. Getting a definition of the word is great, but being able to easy find a word that you dont know is even better. Have you ever had a word at the tip of your tongue, but just could not get it out? How many times have you said, Well, its one of those things" when you couldnt come up with the proper word?" This is a fairly common occurrence for many individuals. They know the concept or object, but the exact word escapes them. They know what it is and will know it when they see it or hear it, but they just need help locating it. A traditional dictionary could NEVER help you with this. But now with the Ultimately Talking Dictionary with INTERLINK, you can find something by just knowing a concept or idea then navigating through word relationships until you find the exact word you are looking for."

Recapping the other Major Ultimate Talking Dictionary features are:

1. Use with ANY other products!! The UTD is designed to be used with any other product: word processors, email, web pages, virtually anything that contains text.

2. Full Digital Voice Reading: All definition and word list can be read to you using high-quality digital voices.

3. Over 250,000 words. In addition to traditional words, it also includes commonly used slang, historical figures, etc.

4. Fully Integrated Thesaurus: The Ultimate Talking Dictionary also contains a comprehensive Thesaurus all one program. The integrated thesaurus will automatically present you with a list of synonyms and antonyms when you look up a word.

5. Fast: The Ultimate Talking Dictionary is incredibly fast.

6. Spelling prediction: If a word that you have entered cannot be found in the dictionary, a list of probable words will be displayed.

7. Spell checking: The Ultimate Talking Dictionary can be used as a spell checker for any application.

8. Words in context: The Ultimate Talking Dictionary will always put the word in context to show you how to use the word.

9. Power Search: If you dont know how to spell the whole word, you can search on a part of a word.

10. Built in recursion: Have you ever looked up a word and the dictionary tells you to see a different word? The Ultimate Talking Dictionary will allow you to go directly to that word.

11. Navigation. You have the ability to move backward" or forward" through your session, just like you would an Internet browser. This is great for keeping your place" when you are doing multi-level searches through the dictionary and thesaurus.

12. Low Vision Feature: Traditional dictionaries are often printed with a font size that is difficult for someone with good vision to read. The Ultimate Talking Dictionary allows you to enlarge the text to that it is readable.

13. Features For Blind Users: Blind users can turn off the voice so that it does not interfere with their screen reader.

The Ultimate Talking Dictionary with INTERLINK sells for only $39.95. You can purchase online at www.readingmadeeasy.com or call 815-722-5961.

For example, lets say you want to look up a type of cloud", but cant think of the name of that type of cloud. You know what the cloud looks like, the shape, the color, etc, but you still only know that it is a cloud. Just enter the word cloud" and it will give you not only the definition of a cloud, but it will also list all the different types of" clouds (i.e. cumulus, cirrus, etc.). In another example, you can start by looking up sky"; you can view all the parts of the sky such as rainbow" and clouds". You can then select clouds" and then view the types of clouds. Effectively, this means you can find a word in one of multiple ways by coming at it from several directions.

After you have your list of related words, simply use your arrow keys to navigate through the list of types", parts", etc. and listen to pronunciation of the word describing the cloud that you want. Once you hear the word youre looking for, press the ENTER key to look up the definition of that cloud to verify that this is indeed the type of cloud you were thinking about."

Ken Grisham continues One can quickly see that this new cognitive cross-referencing of words more readily fits the way that many minds work in language construction. This is a tremendous leap of functionality over anything traditional dictionaries have been able to provide".
