Popular Washington, DC Poet, J. Joy Matthews Alford, poetically known as Sistah Joy has second edition book available on major internet site, Amazon.

Sharing her heart and published by Thelemaque Publishing, the 140-page book was penned by Sistah Joy in an effort to offer herself with others. She has also publicly shared her poetry at the Democratic National Committee in a tribute to Senator Hillary Clinton, a tribute to US Representative John Conyers Jr. at the BETA Annual Awards Banquet, and a performance honoring (then) President Nelson Mandela at the South African Embassy. She is currently the Poet-in-Residence for the downtown Barnes & Noble in Washington, D.C. The much sought-after poet is also founder of the Washington, DC based poetry sisterhood, Collective Voices and was recently appointed Minister of Poetry at Ebenezer AME Church, a mega church of nearly 10,000 members in Fort Washington, MD, co-pastored by Revs. Grainger and Jo Anne Browning.
