The BFOCASD support group wil conduct an Autism Awareness Festival to raise funds for a recreation facility devoted to helping individuals with autism spectrum disorders and similar disabilities. We welcome families, educators, and professionals in the community that want to share and learn more about these developmental disorders.

The incidence of autism is on the rise. Based on statistics from the U.S. Department of Education and other governmental agencies, autism is growing at a rate of 10-17 percent per year. The overall incidence of autism is consistent around the globe, but is four times more prevalent in boys than girls. Autism knows no racial, ethnic, or social boundaries, and family income, lifestyle, and educational levels do not affect the chance of autism's occurance. We want to bring an awareness of this growing occurance to people in the community. Our mission is to provide support, encouragement, education and social opportunities for families, educators, and therapists working with autistic individuals.
