Join the American Cancer Society and Make A Difference in the Fight Against Cancer
Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) March 17, 2004 -- You can make a difference in the fight against cancer by forming a team for the American Cancer Societys Relay For Life in Long Beach. On April 23 & 24, more than 50 teams, comprised of people who live, work or study in the Long Beach area, will take turns walking or running around a track for 24 hours. They will raise funds for much- needed cancer research, community education, legislative advocacy and patient service programs. Relay for Life is an overnight event that empowers the Long Beach community to take part in the fight against cancer while honoring its survivors and remembering loved ones lost to the disease. Volunteers are invited to:
• Form a team from their workplace, family or community organization to walk in honor of someone who has been touched by cancer.
• If a Cancer Survivor, join the Survivors Lap in the Opening Ceremony.
• Buy a luminary to light the Luminary Service.
• Donate food, water or money to support the walkers.
