Miss Long Beach and Miss Teen Long Beach Pageant Delegates Announced

Miss Long Beach and Miss Teen Long Beach Pageant officials have selected the following individuals as delegates for the 2004 Pageant.

Miss Long Beach, Miss Teen Long Beach, two Long Beach Princesses and two Teen Long Beach Princesses are chosen on the basis of a personal interview, evening gown competition, and swimwear competition. Titleholders receive a scholarship and various other prizes.

Each delegate attends a three-month weekly program that includes seminars on image, speaking and interviewing skills along with a pre-pageant social and several rehearsals. Titleholders and the court will represent the city for one year as goodwill ambassadors and official hostesses at many Long Beach events. In additional Miss Long Beach 2004 and Miss Teen Long Beach 2004 advance to participate in a California state pageant as representatives of Long Beach.

The 2004 pageants are being held on Saturday, March 28th at 6pm at the Center Theater, located at 300 Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA. This is a charitable event produced by the Long Beach Junior Chamber. A portion of the proceeds goes to Mentoring, A Touch From Above. Tickets may be purchased online at www.lbjaycees.org or by calling Mike Swenson at 562-209-6067. Tickets are $20 per person.

The Long Beach Junior Chamber created the Miss Long Beach Pageant in 1950 at the request of the city of Long Beach. In 1994, the Miss Teen Long Beach component was added to the program. The Long Beach Jaycees are a social, community involved, leadership training organization for individuals ages 21-39.
