(PRWEB) March 18, 2004 --This months National Capital Area itSMF meeting will include a presentation on how the best practices of IT Service Management integrate with both mandated and recommended Security Management practices.

Two experts, Mr. Kirk Holmes of Holmes and Associates, Inc. and Mr. Leon Stanley of SNS One, Inc. will review the best practice guidelines and requirements for security that are incorporated in FISMA, DITSCAP, NICAP, NIST 800 series, and other references.

They will then review the implementation of the IT Service Management practices using the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), the global consensus for best practices on managing and delivering network and data center services. Thousands of government and commercial organizations around the world have adopted ITIL and it is the most popular foundation for on-going operations, governance audits, and outsourcing decisions.

Using high-level case studies, the speakers will highlight how ITIL and its ITIL Security Management framework help an enterprise address security while improving on-going service to customers.
