Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) March 18, 2004 - After the last six months of reliving years of pinned up aggression and calling on memories that he might have preferred to keep locked away, it's hard to tell if his empty gaze is one of relief or an uncomfortable separation from the reality that he has just immortalized in the 12 tracks collectively called "Similac".
"I wanted to feed them something new", remarks Crybaby, the street name he earned in his early years as an up and coming MC. "The rap game is hungary for new thoughts and a less commercialized sound. These days hip-hop culture is so recycled. "Similac" is the new formula".
Produced by Phatty Banks (Midwest Mafia, Tele, Club Drama) Similac is a journey through a parallel universe, an intriguing narrative of struggle and determination.
"Similac" is the first release from LA based, Straight 7 Entertainment, formed by industry veterans Diego Hodge-Blak and Darnalle France in 2001. Darnalle learned the game by watching his first cousin, O'Shea Jackson, a.k.a Ice Cube and his uncle who served as CEO of L.A. Confidential/Atlantic, navigate through the growing urban movement of the early nineties. Long time friend Diego Hodge-Blak established an entertainment management and marketing company which earned him Gold and Platinum credits from the success of Scarface, The Luniz, Ghetto Boyz, Cypress Hill and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
After releasing multiple mix tapes, Crybaby hit the Ohio rap scene hardened and hungry with instant street credibility. Winner of the Gold Mic award and 5 Ohio "Spit Boxing" competitions, Crybaby's lyrical prowess captures an unbashed embrace of the gangsta lifestyle, in tracks such as "Just a Gangsta" and "Brick to the City". The album is sprinkled with reflections on the soul draining bleakness of the streets and life changing experience of meeting his biological father after working together unknowingly for months on work detail in the same prison.
