Aspen Park, CO (PRWEB) March 18, 2004 -- A collection of landscape and horticulture pictures taken by professional photographer, William R. Probeck, can be viewed at Aspen Perk Coffeehouse. A special 2nd Sunday" Gallery Brunch was held with the artist on Sunday, March 14.

Sponsored by Arts Alive! and Aspen Perk, the 2nd Sunday" gathering gives the public an opportunity to view the works of talented local artists of varying mediums.

Attendance at the brunch filled the room as guests mingled throughout, commenting on the artwork, including the black and white and color photographs exhibited.

One guest, Nancy Pfohl, active with the arts community, suggested that Probecks work is extraordinary" and that she appreciates the images and colors he highlights."

Another guest, painter Sarah Kaaua, commented that the work is uniquely beautiful, capturing a certain composition and color that gives a distinctive flavor to his work."

Williams landscapes capture a peace that can be found in nature...there is an ethereal feel to them," Kaaua continued.

Cathy Brown, an avid photographer, suggested that Probecks work shows his passion for the outdoors," while excelling in a variety of mediums within photography."

When asked about how he chooses his subject matter, Probeck suggested I look for the unusual image amongst the commonplace -- the overlooked, whether it is in a spectacular place (The Great Sand Dunes in Colorado) or under an iron ore dock in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan."

There is always some scene to look for (in color or black and white), study, wait, and then to capture in a different light. It is the final image that matters that evokes emotions in me and with some luck in the viewer," he continued.

William R. Probeck is a published photographer, web designer and writer, and is a garden writer/photographer for Colorado Gardener and Evergreens Canyon Courier and High Timber Times newspapers.

His work is currently on display in two Michigan galleries, Creative Expressions and The Barn in Onekama. He has also had his pictures on display at Curves Studio in Conifer and the Shadow Mountain Gallery Co-op, 1992 - 1994.
