(PRWEB) March 19, 2004 --The Archdiocese of Chicagos "Relevant Radio" station -- WCSN (820AM) -- showcases the unique perspective of Augustus Tolton Scholar and Screenwriter Delle Chatman as she reflects on "The Passion of the Christ."

On March 23 at 9 a.m., Delle Chatman is Julius Fraziers sole guest on "Gods Praises Tell." During WCSN-820AM radios half-hour program, their conversation moves past the contentious issues of violence and anti-Semitism in Mel Gibsons film "The Passion of the Christ" and focuses on its compelling depiction of Jesus humanity and his solidarity with all who suffer. Chatman explores the movies visual beauty and celebrates its brief glimpse of the resurrection.

She is African American and Roman Catholic, a published "Christian author" and a produced screenwriter, a lay preacher and a woman pursuing a Master of Divinity degree among seminarians at Catholic Theological Union. Given her diverse background, Chatman is just the person to unreel a complex commentary on Gibsons cultural phenomenon. Her theological studies were interrupted two years ago by a face-off with ovarian cancer. That life-altering experience inspired a controversial editorial, "Being Catholic in a Season of Trial and Love," published in the Chicago Tribune on Christmas Day, 2002. Sought after as a retreat leader and motivational speaker, last year Chatman provided several "Reflections" on faith, peace, and other ideals for the WTTW Channel 11 series, "30 Good Minutes," and will once again contribute reflections and a sermon as well to next seasons crop of spiritual insights.

Chatman co-wrote the screenplay for the Showtime Network's production "FREE OF EDEN." The films star and executive producer was Sidney Poitier. In 2001, she authored "THE DEATH OF A PARENT: Reflections for Adults Mourning the Loss of a Father or Mother" with Reverend William Kenneally, pastor of St. Gertrudes Catholic Parish. In her second book -- "THE UNTEACHABLE TEN: Wisdom and Visions for All Students of Life" -- Chatman serves up the wisdom-fruit of her experiences teaching at Northwestern University from 1990-1999. An image-juggler at heart, she garnishes each life lesson in the book with an original fine art photograph. Francis Cardinal George of Chicago has praised her digital paintings for treating every subject with reverence and beauty. Her novel "Redeemed" -- which depicts a different coming of Christ thousands of years in the future -- is searching for a publisher. Chatman is writing "The Woman Who Would Be Priest."
