Nampa, Idaho (PRWEB) March 22, 2004 - Angel in Chains, a film produced at Southern Adventist Universitys School of Visual Art and Design, is now being distributed on DVD and VHS by Pacific Press through Adventist Book Centers nationwide. Angel in Chains, filmed on location in Arizona with a crew of over 40 students and instructors, is the first film produced by an Adventist educational institution to receive national distribution.
Angel in Chains is directed by Nathan Huber, a senior film major, and features a soundtrack composed by respected Nashville songwriter Michael Bonagura. Wayne Hazen, director of the School of Visual Art and Design, says the film has generated substantial interest because of its message as well as its quality, which is remarkable considering all the obstacles the cast and crew had to overcome, including a crewmember handicapped with a recurrence of malaria and a last-minute change to the films lead role.
Angel in Chains uses the medium of film to deliver a message of forgiveness and addresses lifes priorities. In the film, the main character Rip LeBeau (played by Don Pearson) lives a hard life on the open road with his pack of road warriors. Riding through the Arizona desert on their motorcycles, they find themselves stranded when a clutch breaks down. The guarded hospitality of a ranchers wife and the unguarded love of her little girl (played by Chelsea Jo Claxton) change Rip LeBeaus life forever. The film is based on a true story.
One crewmember summed up the film by saying it is a rich testament to what can be accomplished by a group of young Christian artists when they share a common goal and a passion for their craft."
Angel in Chains is now available on DVD for $14.95 and VHS for $9.95. The DVD version contains extra material, including the documentary, We Have Been Led, which details how Southern Adventist University came to start a film school.
Angel in Chains can be ordered through your local Adventist Book Center or by calling toll-free (800) 765-6955. To purchase online, visit www.AdventistBookCenter.com.
