Full Sail Adds New Mackie Controllers To Recording Arts MIDI Course
Full Sail, an entertainment media college in Florida, adds new Mackie technology to the Recording Arts Degree Program.
(PRWEB) March 19, 2004 --Full Sail Real World Education has recently introduced 24 Mackie Control Universals on campus to be used in the MIDI course -- part of Full Sails Recording Arts Degree Program. The new Mackie controllers have been installed in Full Sails MIDI Lab and will be utilized in conjunction with Emagics Logic Audio Platinum software package to keep students current with industry trends.
The new Mackie Control Universals are integrated seamlessly with Logic Audio Platinum, allowing students to control various software parameters with the consoles control surface, in addition to the conventional mouse. This is becoming a much more prevalent way of working in computer-based environments," says Bill Smith, Program Director for Recording Arts. Mackies equipment will help Full Sail students to become comfortable with this approach before going out into the industry."
Mackie equipment is used extensively for controlling MIDI applications for an assortment of industry projects, making the Mackie Control Universal hardware a perfect complement to Full Sails MIDI training. Students will benefit from using this new hardware, as it is very typical of what they will encounter in many different audio-related career fields," Smith says. Mackie products are in use at schools, churches, corporate offices, theme parks, project studios, home studios, broadcast facilities, and many other environments around the world."
This lab is far from the first Mackie based lab on campus, as Full Sail students are exposed to their industry-standard products throughout the Recording Arts Program. Most notably, twelve Mackie d8b digital consoles make their home in the Digital Mix Lab, where audio students exercise their critical listening and mixing skills.
The Mackie Control Universal consoles are a welcome addition to Full Sails Recording Arts curriculum, offering students the opportunity to learn on the latest in industry-defining MIDI equipment. They are the number one product in their category," Smith says. Were excited to add this extra dimension to Full Sails Recording Arts program."
