New Accessory Line Extends Utility Umbrella Capacity To Provide Protection from Sun and Weather

A new line of accessories designed to complement GMP's Model D and Dielectric utility umbrellas. Whether working in a bucket or on the ground, GMP's rugged umbrellas and accessories provide utility line personnel with fast shelter from sun and harsh weather.

(PRWEB) March 21, 2004 --General Machine Products Company, Inc. (GMP), Trevose, PA, is pleased to introduce a new line of accessories designed to complement its existing Model D and Dielectric utility umbrellas. The addition of the new umbrella accessories expands GMP's 600-plus product line of tools and equipment specifically designed to meet the needs of the telecommunications, power utility and cable television industries. Whether working in a bucket or on the ground, GMP's rugged umbrellas and accessories provide utility line personnel with fast shelter from sun and harsh weather.

Choose between the Model D Umbrella (for standard use) or the Dielectric Umbrella (to reduce the potential of electrical shock when working near power wires). For maximum mounting and angle-adjustment flexibility, GMP offers an optional Umbrella Angle Adapter that provides five tilt-angle adjustment settings for maximum protection no matter where the sun is located. This adapter can be offered with a One-Piece 24 in. (609.6 mm) Pole Extension (P/N 71647) or with a Two-Piece Pole Extension set (P/N 71640), giving you a full 45 inches (1.125 M) of pole length.

For protection when working at ground level, a sturdy Tripod Umbrella Kit is available that features weighted-leg construction and comes complete with a durable storage bag.

For protection while working aloft, a convenient Bucket Holder pole attachment securely mounts your umbrella to any flat bucket surface (requires Angle Adapter with One-Piece Pole Extension P/N 71647). Bucket Holder thumb screws make precise umbrella positioning a snap. All accessories accommodate GMP manufactured umbrellas.

Features of GMP's umbrella products and accessories include:

  • A tough plastic 68 in. (173 cm) dia. umbrella cover that is colored safety yellow on the top (custom company logos available)
  • A reflective white underside cuts down on interior heat absorption and vinyl-coated; nylon rib-end pockets keep the frame from tearing the cover
  • Self-sealing waterproofed, waxed stitching and improved construction, using a nylon sleeve and rib retainers for attaching the frame's six collapsible ribs
  • The frame's collapsible fiberglass ribs connect at a ring-type lock that slides along the pole as you open or close the umbrella
  • To lock the ring, just slide it over the set pin in the pole, and rotate it
  • The 43 in. (109 cm) long wooden pole has a male ferrule so you can attach the 29 in. (74 cm) extension section for a height of 6 ft. (1.83 m)
  • When working near power wires choose the dielectric umbrella to reduce potential sources of electrical shock
  • The Tripod Kit accepts upper pole of umbrella. Kit includes weighted-leg construction, angle adapter and telescoping stand.
