Fans of TV's ANGEL Donate to Los Angeles Regional Foodbank to Save Their Show
Fans of The WB series, ANGEL, mount a grassroots fight to save their show from cancellation.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 22, 2004 --Outraged viewers of The WB's recently cancelled series, ANGEL, refuse to let their hero slip from the network's 2004-2005 season lineup.
Taking a cue from the show's titular hero, who has spent the past five years helping LA's helpless, viewers are donating to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
The campaign, started by the show's supporters on the WB's Angel message board, has spread rapidly across the Internet. $2500.00 has been donated within the first three days of the campaign, which is slated to run through March 31st.
Fans donating through the website, http://www.angelsfooddrive.com, are able to click links to notify the media of their contributions, print postcards to send to the network and leave comments in the pledge book.
"The WB has made a mistake in cancelling Angel. The ratings are up and the critics are raving about the current season. We want to show the WB the depth of the fan's devotion to this show," said one member of the food drive.
Whether the fans can save their show remains to be seen. But the concrete good being done by the food drive is something even Angel could be proud of.
