New Travel Website "Fills In The Gaps"
City and state tourism boards and local businesses find affordable way to appeal to tourists. Our goal is to promote travel in the United States. What do you DO when you get there? Find fun & interesting things to do in any area of the US.
(PRWEB) March 23, 2004 --Even with threats of terrorism, travel is still a big industry in the U.S. The only thing that has really changed is that more and more people are choosing to travel within the country. And why not? We have beautiful scenery, history, and a myriad of fun family activities right here in the U.S.A.
The big travel sites like Travelocity, CheapTickets, and Orbitz are all very useful at helping vacationers find and book flights, hotels, and car rentals. There is, however, one important question they fail to answer: "What do we do when we get there?"
JC Smith of HotShotTravel.com saw this gap in travel sites and decided to do something about it. "We are currently gathering information from all cities in all 50 states and DC," says Smith. "Our goal is to allow Chambers of Commerce, Tourism Bureaus, Historic Sites, Museums, Parks and Gardens, Beaches and Lakes to list their attractions with us for free. Other businesses can list themselves on the site for just $6.95 per month.
HotShotTravel has listings up and ready to go for all states and cities in the U.S. They have kept rates affordable so that even the smallest of businesses can afford a listing. "The cities and states are really getting free promotion on our site," says Smith. "Tourists will soon be able to visit the site and browse through their destinations to find out what to do when they get there," she says.
Getting listed on HotShotTravel is easy. To get listed, organizations and businesses should visit the site and click on "Add My Info." HotShotTravel will also provide a link directly to the organization's website at no cost.
There is an expected wait of about 1-2 weeks for new information to be loaded onto the site. Listed parties will receive an email informing them that their information has been updated.
"We will also list your calendar of events for free," says Smith. "Just send your information and let us help you promote your next event."
