Pigman Gallery Presents Levitation", The Mixed Media Work Of Rob Racine
The Pigman Gallery at 72 Tehama Street (One block south of Howard between 1st and 2nd) will feature Rob Racine and his mixed media work from April 1st-April 30. Rob gravitates towards more unconventional mediums such as denim and bed frames, and uses oil and acrylic paints to create different layers of paint that portray his different emotions. His pieces tend to be abstract and conceptual, encouraging the viewer to move closer to the art and pay attention to detail.
(PRWEB) March 25, 2004 -- Rob approaches canvas by layering paint expressively, bringing out forms as they appear. He feels that layering paint is the best way to paint freely, allowing the unexpected, while having the ability to change. His style attempts to give the image an illusion of extending past the surface area. Most of his influences come from past and present visual and emotional experiences. A competitive skiing accident left Rob with chronic back problems. Art has become a means and a voice to express his pain.
The reception for the artist at the Pigman Gallery is on Thursday April 1st from 6-8 PM. The opening will feature sweet desserts, beverages, and music by Firefingers. The Pigman Gallery is for Artists in the Kingdom.
