Fox Searchlab Comedy Short 'King of the Moon' an Official Selection of 2004 Tribeca Film Festival
Fox Searchlab's comedy short - King of the Moon - has been named an Official Selection of the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival in Manhattan, May 1-9.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 26, 2004 -- 'King of the Moon,' Fox Searchlab's comedy short about Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in the lunar module wrestling over who will become the first man to walk on the Moon, has been selected to participate in the Narrative Short Competition of this year's Tribeca Film Festival. The 20 minute film screens Sunday, May 2 at 9:30 pm and Wednesday, May 5 at 3:15 pm at the United Artists Battery Park Theater, 102 North End Avenue.
Produced on a shoestring budget and shot on DV by director Matt Clements, 'King of the Moon' is based on the hit short play written by the film's actors, Scott Alan Smith and Adam Paul. In live performance, 'King of the Moon played to sold out houses at the HBO Workspace, The Groundlings and New Yorks Present Company.
Clements, a recent graduate of the American Film Institute, last directed the award-winning short, 'Flirting with Death, which appeared on the Showtime network. King of the Moon is so different from most of the short films you see out there," said Clements. Its an historical comedy, a buddy-picture a lunar fantasy and a love letter to a simpler time. Were thrilled its going to get the exposure a festival like Tribeca can provide."
Paul, repped by Athena Talent Management, recurs on CBSs 'The District and his voice can be heard in Dreamworks 'Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. Smiths credits include Showtimes 'D.C. 9/11 and ABCs 'Philly. Hes repped by Forster Entertainment and Diverse Talent.
