Local Group Honors Professional Achievements of Women of Color Featured Speakers: Councilwoman Camille Exum of Prince Georges County, Angela Russell of WJLA Channel 7 News and Vikki Johnson of Black Entertainment Television; Governor Ehrlich Commends NPWEs Efforts

In celebration of Womens History Month, the National Professional Womens Exchange (NPWE) will host a Spring Tea on Saturday, March 27, 2004 highlighting the achievements of professional women of color. The event will be held at the Patuxent Greens Country Club in Laurel and will feature Councilwoman Camille Exum of Prince Georges County, Angela Russell of WJLA Channel 7 News and Vikki Johnson of Black Entertainment Television.

Largo, MD (PRWEB) March 27, 2004 --In celebration of Womens History Month, the National Professional Womens Exchange (NPWE) will host a Spring Tea on Saturday, March 27, 2004 highlighting the achievements of professional women of color. The event will be held at the Patuxent Greens Country Club in Laurel and will feature Councilwoman Camille Exum of Prince Georges County, Angela Russell of WJLA Channel 7 News and Vikki Johnson of Black Entertainment Television. The theme for the Spring Tea is Professional Women: Leading the Way for Such a Time as This".

The Spring Tea will be a tribute to women of color who have paved the way and to women who are currently making contributions that are improving the personal and professional lives of other women, said Pamela Johnson, founder and president of NPWE.

The NPWE facilitates networking opportunities, advances issues important to professional women of color, and supports community-based efforts to improve the lives of women and families. Founded in 2003 by a group of professional women of color in the Washington, DC Area, NPWE was recently commended by Marylands Governor for their efforts to enhance business and professional opportunities for African American women. It pleases me to commend your organization for all that you do to increase quality of life for African American business women and their families in Prince Georges County," stated Governor Ehrlich in a recent letter to NPWE.
