Asia Pro Programme in KUET, Bangladesh

Department of Civil Engineering, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET)with European Commission (EC).

(PRWEB) March 28, 2004 --A one year research project co-financed by the European Commission (EC) in its Asia Pro Eco Programme in the Department of Civil Engineering, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) will be commenced soon. The grant contract was already signed. The title of this project is Integrated Management and Safe Disposal of Municipal Solid Wastes in Least Developed Asian Countries". The project will be run by the following partnership consortium:

(i)   Department of Civil Engineering, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Bangladesh.
(ii)   Prodipan, NGO, Khulna, Bangladesh.
(iii)   Department of Geology, Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
(iv)   School of Civil Engineering, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.
(v)   Department of Applied Geology, Karlsruhe University, Germany.
(vi)   School of Civil Engineering, Leeds University, UK.

Department of Civil Engineering, KUET, is the Lead Partner of this project and the activities will be carried out in the six major cities of Bangladesh (Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Barisal, & Sylhet) and Kathmandu city of Nepal.

The official starting time of this 12 Months project is 14.04.2004. Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, Head, Department of Civil Engineering is the Coordinator of this project. The official website of the project is www.wastesafe.org.
