Youth Ambassadors Needed for Runaway Prevention Projects
411-KIDS is recruiting south Florida high school sophomores and juniors to serve as Youth Ambassadors. Accepted applicants will receive training and support to lead school programs to help homeless children and runaway prevention efforts.
(PRWEB) March 28, 2004 --411-KIDS is seeking south Florida applicants for Youth Ambassadors. Applicants should be current high school sophomores and juniors who will establish 411-KIDS clubs in local schools, churches and community centers. The clubs promote projects to help homeless children as well as runaway prevention efforts. Service hours are available.
An information meeting will take place in Weston on Saturday, April 3, from 11am to 1pm.
Applicants should have excellent communications, organization, and team building skills, work effectively with adults, be reliable, responsible, motivated and emotionally intelligent.
Seth Eisenberg, executive director of the nonprofit 411-KIDS organization, said 20,000 young people experience homelessness in Broward and Miami-Dade counties each year as a result of being runaways or throwaways. Volunteers are needed to help these kids survive and keep others from becoming homeless," Eisenberg said.
