Choose which New York celeb you'd like to make an "appearance" in the Broadway musical Avenue Q and get a chance to win one of three Avenue Q Cast albums.
If you got to be a producer for a day for the Broadway show Avenue Q, and you had one chance to transform a New York celebrity into an Avenue Q puppet, who would it be? About Manhattan wants to know.
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 30, 2004 --Not everyone gets the chance to be involved in the casting process of a Broadway show, but what if you got that chance? If you got to be a producer for a day for the Broadway show Avenue Q, and you had one chance to transform a New York celebrity into an Avenue Q puppet, who would it be? About Manhattan (http://www.Manhattan.About.com) wants to know.
"New Yorkers are known for saying what's on their mind, and this is just a way for fans of the show and Broadway, or anyone for that matter, to have some fun, and get the chance to win a cast album in the process," says Reginald James, About Manhattan Guide. "Personally, I'd choose Jocelyn Wildenstein because it would be quite fascinating to see what they would do with her. It would also be cool to see what kind of hair they'd give a Donald Trump puppet."
Avenue Q, the 2003 Lucille Lortel Award winner for Outstanding New Musical, features puppets who appear onstage along with their human handlers. There's also an appearance by T.V. star Gary Coleman - or rather his "fuzzy" likeness, which spawned James' query to his readers. "I figured I'd give my readers the chance to get their responses printed for the whole world to see. I'm going to share with them some of the best responses I've been getting. I'm sure they'll get as big of a kick out of them as I have." James won't divulge the names of the famous New Yorkers he's received so far, or who the front-runner is. Says James, "While you do have the more obvious choices, you'd be surprised by some of the names I've gotten." Visitors to About Manhattan have until April 19, to have their say, plus enter to win a "Q" cast album - look for the Avenue Q link in the "Essentials" section.
