Unwiredtec Sound Engine is a plugin for a popular ringtone conversion processor and additional Unwiredtec product, "Ringtone Creator". Sound Engine is able to "play" any ringtone in MIDI, SMAF, or IMelody format, using WAVE samples contained in a DLS sound bank. After performing mixing and/or sound enhancements, it will then save the file in any of the WAVE, AU, MP3 or AMR formats. The plugin is able to process files in either of "one-at-a-time" or "batch mode".

The Unwiredtec Sound Engine plugin works seamlessly with the Ringtone Creator GUI Converter, the Java library, and a Web application. Users are able to modify various ringtone preview parameters, such as the length and quality of a particular melody. This protects ringtone vendors and producers from having their products copied and distributed illegally, as backward conversion is rendered impossible.
