Two Weeks Left To Apply For Unique International Internship
Canadian youth, ages 18-30, are being offered internships with organizations like the United Nations, through Canada's TakingITGlobal. Interested applicants have until
April 15, 2004 to apply.
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) April 1, 2004 -- There are only two weeks left for Canadian youth to apply for the opportunity of their lives- and professional careers.
This opportunity is for eight participants, Canadian citizens or landed immigrants, between the ages of 18-30, to intern at one of the following: the United Nations, in Paris, Oxfam International in Sydney, Australia, Peacechild International in London, UK, the Global Youth Action Network, in New York, USA, the Education Development Center's Global Youth Employment Summit Campaign (YES) in Boston USA, the Digital Youth Consortium (DYC) in Rome, Italy, or at VSO Canada, in Ottawa, Canada.
The placements of the interns, organized by TakingITGlobal, will last approximately eight months. In addition to gaining experience to build a career in international development, the participants will attend training in Toronto, commencing in late June 2004. Their travel and health insurance costs, as well as a basic living and accommodation stipend are covered through the program. Most importantly, they have a chance to be agents of change.

It has truly been a life-changing journey," said Alex Fielding, who interned at the United National World Summit on the Information Society, through this program last year. From Camrose, Alberta, Fielding is a graduate of Augustana University College and currently works at TakingITGlobal.
