Frank Cuzzocrea Jr., Vice President of the Biscayne Bay Young Republicans and candidate for the Florida Federation of Young Republicans Co-Chair, dictates his past living in upstate New York with parents that passed to young, receiving a bachelor's degree from one of America's greatest universities, to working campaigns and helping the community

(PRWEB) April 1, 2004 -- Hello, my name is Frank Cuzzocrea Jr., and with your support, I will be your next Florida Federation of Young Republicans Co-Chairman. Earlier you received a copy of why I want your vote, now Im writing you to show you whats behind the man looking for your support.

I was born Frank Joseph Cuzzocrea Jr. in Massena NY, a small Industrial town on the Canadian border. My two brothers, sister, and I were reared Roman Catholic, are deeply involved with our communities, and are leaders in every venture we are involved with. My mother, Joan Dowe, sacrificed for my siblings when her first husband passed away by working in a variety of jobs and living by the golden rule. My father, Frank Sr., was an Aluminum Processor and ten year Union Vice-President. My father was the upstate New York Version of a Southern Democrat, the type that would debate and challenge you for ideas, unafraid to have an opinion and to provide their version of solutions to the nations problems instead of partisan rhetoric and habitual criticism that exists in their party today. He was my biggest critic, my fiercest political opponent, and my best friend. While my father and I were rarely on the same side of an issue, his style of debating my conservative philosophy with his liberal theocracy molded me into the person I am today. We miss our parents, seven years now, but their legacy, spirit, determination live on.

In 1997, I attended the University of Miami, were I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Political Science and Computer Information Systems. I served in Student Government as a Senior Senator where I helped redesign the Student Government Constitution. I am currently the Special Projects Manager for Evensky, Brown & Katz, a world famous wealth management company in Coral Gables, were I conduct research and relationship building for our clientele. My guiding force is my fiancée, Laverne, who serves as my partner through the hills and valleys of life.

When I was a sophomore in high school I worked for my first campaign, registering juniors and seniors and speaking out in civics class against Mario Cuomo and for an unknown state representative from Peekskill, Governor George Pataki. I soon worked with the Massena Republican Party going door-to-door, doing voter registrations, organizing phone banks, to help local Republicans for the next three years. When I started at UM, I worked on a few local races and for our Governor and for John McCain. That fall, I started voter rallies, get the campus vote out efforts, and debated with our more liberal students to vote for our President.

In 2002, at an alumni event for the University of Miami, I meet Ernesto Martinez, then Biscayne Bay Young Republicans President and our current Chairman of the Board, about working with the YRs in Dade County. While I had worked on campaigns, I hadnt the opportunity to get involved in the party. After my first meeting I was hooked, soon becoming Membership Director, Treasurer, and Vice President. Our visibility in the community continues to grow, and by then end of 2005 we will foster a second club in Hialeah, our biggest counties second biggest city.

That same year I worked on two campaigns that have defiantly shaped my life. The first was with State Representative Julio Robaina. Julio was the Mayor of South Miami, a city were Democrats outnumber Republicans 4 to 1. Julio was outspent, but his organization, his record, and his determination painted a brighter picture leading him to victory. That fall I ran to fill the vacancy caused by his departure to Tallahassee. While I wasnt elected, the experiences I had, the friends I made, and the issues I addressed, helping to change the landscape of the city, which is a victory in its own right. This fall, I will be fighting for our Presidents reelection, the election of the first Republican Mayor in County Hall history, greater Republican Representation in Tallahassee and Washington, and for greater Republican involvement in the cities and towns around Floridas largest county.

I am an avid believer in giving back to the community. I serve on the City of South Miamis Community Relations Board and advise the Economic Development Board. I am the Treasurer of the University of Miami: Greater Miami Alumni Council, a board member of the Miami-Dade Republican Liberty Caucus, a board member of the South Miami Homeowners Association, and I volunteer in minor football. I have written a number of articles the have been published in a variety of media outlets, including strengthening local control and government accountability through incorporation, fighting for the removal of a corrupt official, and for the benefits of limiting the expansion of local government to better the community in the years to come.

When you vote on June 5th, remember that maintaining our President, our congressional delegation, and our state delegation are paramount to this party and this organization in the future. Look for someone who learns from the pass, integrates the values of the present, for the prosperity of the future. My name is Frank Cuzzocrea Jr., and I am looking for your support.
