Tutor/Mentor Connection Launches New Online Chicagoland Program Locator
Chicago non-profit Tutor/Mentor Connection launches Program Locator, an online tool created to help parents, students, volunteers, donors, and others find Chicagoland tutor and mentor programs.
(PRWEB) April 2, 2004 -- Tutor/Mentor Connection (T/MC), a Chicago non-profit, recently launched Program Locator, an online tool designed to help parents, students, volunteers, and others locate tutor and mentor programs in Chicago and its suburbs. The searchable online directory features information about more than 300 organizations that provide various forms of tutoring and mentoring programs. Users can search by zip code, age group, type of program, and time of day by visiting http://www.tutormentorexchange.net/Partner/CC/Program_Locator/.
Parents and volunteers can use the Program Locator to easily locate tutor/mentor organizations in their neighborhoods. Leaders will find it is an invaluable tool for learning which areas have enough programs and where more are needed. Volunteers, donors, and business partners can use Program Locator to increase the flow of dollars and technology into every neighborhood where programs are needed on a more consistent basis.
Founded in 1993, T/MC serves as a clearinghouse for information about successful non-school tutor/mentor programs and shares that knowledge to expand the availability and enhance the effectiveness of these services to children in the Chicagoland area. T/MC uses computer generated maps to identify where programs are most needed based on poverty levels and the location of poorly performing schools, and then works to support and sustain effective programs.
