Canadians Dominate Category at 2004 James Beard Award Nominations
In the recently announced nominees for the 2004 James Beard awards, two out of three jounalists in the Internet Writing category are from Canada.
(PRWEB) April 2, 2004 -- The James Beard Foundation announced their 2004 Journalism Awards nominees on March 11/04 and Ontario-based wine writers account for two of the three nominees in the Internet Writing On Food, Nutrition, Travel, Restaurant And Beverage category. Natalie MacLean is nominated for a second time, having won the award in 2003. Another Canuck in the running this year is Oakville Ontario resident Richard Best, who has been nominated for his monthly educational wine newsletter, The Frugal Oenophile.
"Of course it's an honour to be nominated, but I must admit it's also a bit intimidating," says Best. "There are so many quality email newsletters available today. I'm totally thrilled to have been selected for the short list."
The James Beard awards are presented annually to journalists in the food, beverage an travel industries. Other award categories include Restaurant & Chef, Broadcast Media, Design, and Books.
