Ferraris, chaos and coffee!
How a family vacation to Europe lead me to the best espresso on the planet.
(PRWEB) April 3, 2004 --Mom and Dad (82 & 86) wanted to take the family to Europe -- eight of us in all - my sister, her two teen boys, my daughter, her teen daughter (my grand daughter, and I.
It was a recipe for disaster. However, we managed to negotiate a fun time for all and at the end of the trip, the parents went north to visit relatives in Germany and the rest of us went south to Italy.
While stopping at the most colorful and chaotic gas station / truck stop I've ever experienced, we discovered an amazing espresso, like no other. The place was clearly out of control, like an Italian soap opera.
After returning home, that wonderfully deep, rich flavor and aroma continued to haunt me. I needed more ...a LOT more.
Through a strange series of events, I found a guy who's father brought a coffee bean recipe and secret roast from Italy. He sold this oily, darkly roasted-to-perfection espresso and in his shop in the International Settlement in Old San Francisco ... since the 40s.
The story is a collection of twists and turns that ended as a small internet web site to help lovers of true Italian espresso save money on trips to Italy ... just for a great cup of coffee.
