Zero Zero One, The International Dialing Code For Plastic Buddha Style.

Plastic Buddha Inc. (PBID) is proud to announce the release of the Zero Zero One pen for Acme Writing Tools of Hawaii, USA. Named Zero Zero One, after the international dialing code for Canada. Plastic Buddha is the first Canadian design studio to design for ACME.

Winnipeg, Canada (PRWEB) April 5, 2004 --Plastic Buddha Inc. (PBID) is proud to announce the release of the Zero Zero One pen for Acme Writing Tools of Hawaii, USA. Named Zero Zero One, after the international dialing code for Canada, the pen references contemporary societys obsession and reliance on technology while maintaining a connection with its past. The pen's graphic binary language of bronze zeros and ones subtly form an underlying baroque pattern on a light blue background invoking our technology-centered present society while recalling the past.

Plastic Buddhas response to the present design environment has been described as 'form and function grudge match. Our work is about restructuring the language of meaning that stems from culture, history, aesthetics, function and social interaction to provoke dialogue and possibility," says Craig Alun Smith, Creative Director at Plastic Buddha.

The writing tools of Acme Studios are created to commemorate the artistic achievements of the 20th century's greatest contemporary artists, architects and designers. Expertly crafted with state-of-the-art components manufactured in Germany, each model is available in both rollerball and fountain pen styles and comes in its own impressive presentation case.

Acme Studios pens: From the fanciful figures of Keith Haring to the functional simplicity and elegance of Frank Lloyd Wright designs, a pen from Acme Studios is a testament to the art and incomparable skill of these current day masters who have shaped style and expression to capture the very essence of eclectic culture. Among the many artists, architects and designers honored by Acme Writing Tools include Alessandro Mendini, Andree Putnam, Constantin Boym, Charles and Ray Eames, Karim Rashid, Kenny Scharf, Michael Graves and Nancy Wolff.

Ordering information and images of the pen are available at: www.acmestudio.com
