New book "BLACK POWER" available at amazon.com

This book revamps the African American quest for social/ political power

Bronx, NY (PRWEB) April 2, 2004 --African American author Michael Alan Townsend has penned a new book on an old problem, Black empowerment. In this his first book he has combined history, current events, and statistical data to show Blacks the way to empowerment. This book is unique in the way Mr. Townsend approaches the issue. He examines economic, sociological, and psychological problems; he then uses a modified How to/ Self-help format to illustrate the steps toward Black empowerment. Ive always found self-help books easy to follow," he explains. Still he points out, This is not a self help book."

The book BLACK POWER: STRATEGIES FOR ACHIEVING AND UTILIZING POWER IN AMERICA" by Michael Alan Townsend (ISBN 0-9753205-0-5) is available from bronxvillage.com and amazon.com.

This book deals with a complex issue in a surprisingly simple way. Examples are taken from the Black experience and analyzed in relation to other ethnic groups, as well as methods of empowerment. Analogies are drawn between history and current events to illustrate key points. He uses these points to outline his controversial method for obtaining Reparations.

The author attempts to write in a style that will appeal to both adults and young adults. This is a simple book for a complicated people," so says Mr. Townsend. My goal is to inform not confuse." In keeping with this philosophy he has included a glossary, index, and references for further study. Townsend has pored over one year worth of research and observation into his freshman work. The reader will find this book informative and yet easy to retain.

The book will be available through amazon.com, but in the spirit of Black empowerment the publisher will push to have it in Black owned stores before the Official" publication date. For more information contact: Abdul Malik at (646) 283-0980 P.O. Box 1021, Bronx, NY 10466; books@bronxvillage.com
